Nixon Omollo is Kenyan-born roots reggae artist based in Connecticut, USA who writes in Kiswahili, English, and Spanish. He is a songwriter, singer, guitarist, and producer with over 20 years experience as a solo performer and band leader. He has performed live in Nairobi, Addis Ababa, Bali, New York, Chicago, New Haven, Ann Arbor, and more. Since 2021, Nixon releases multiple singles throughout the year through his label, Nixon Omollo African Heritage, LLC (NOAH). He is frequently featured on the radio by reggae DJs around the globe. He has performed on live television in Kenya. His New York-based band NOAH's Ark Reggae Band features musicians from five countries and plays live in the northeast United States. He regularly performs, records, and promotes other struggling independent artists. He is involved in philanthropic activities and social enterprises in Kenya. He and his wife currently live in Connecticut.
Music Highlights
I'm a Rastaman. My influence in reggae music came from the roots reggae legends. Bob Marley and the Wailers, Black Uhuru, Wailing Souls, Joseph Hill of Culture etc. They not only influenced me musically but, more importantly, spiritually.
Recorded remotely during the COVID-19 pandemic, this album was a prayer for things to get back to normal. Produced by Kenny Allen and featuring musicians from Ethiopia.
